Shakespear- Understanding

Lateley we have been reading about people turning on one another. Actually that seems to be the theme of what we have been reading lately. This later part of the week we have been reading about a respectable fair General that has been outcast by some of his close friends. While he is in love with a senators daughter,  others are stabbing him in the back. Really when you look at this story, we've all seen it. It happens all the time within groups of friends, one friend has something against another and proceeds to ruining what makes the other friend happy. Along the way he picks up some followers by igniting some of the smallest dislikes others have for the friend. And I sat there asking myself, Will we ever grow up? I came to the conclusion that we won't. We've been at these petty games for over 400 years. So screw it, go stab your friends in the back! Jump on the bandwagon, everyone does it.

  1. I tend to agree. I thought we study the past so we don't repeat the mistakes made by others and thats the point but I guess its just human nature to be hurtful to the people that are close and its stupid we should act like the adults we are and not the kids we used to be.

  2. Regardless if we are adults, kids, or teens, we are always going to act this way. Its rediculous, and petty, and it may not always be to the extreme of the play "Othello" but most all people tend to look out for number one (yourself) and could usually care less about anyone else. There are always some exceptions, not everyone is like this but we have all some how been a part of this childish game.

  3. I agree with this! No matter how old or young someone is jealousy lives within them, and with that jealousy comes a "plan" to ruin the others life to make them feel better. But people don't realize that although you maybe hurting them karma is going to come around and bite you 10 times harder then you bit the person. Like Iago's plan failed and he never got what he wanted and ended up dying as well.
